Lunch at the The Distillery, Historic Savannah: A quick lunch and beautiful conversation

Lunch at the The Distillery

THE DISTILLERY. . . Of Historic Savannah

While my two eldest sons were at an art class at the SCAD MOA (Savannah College of Art and Design Museum of Art), and my husband was on daddy duty with the youngest. I decided to take some time to myself and have a walk. It was refreshing to get reacquainted with downtown Savannah. Eventually, I needed to stop for a snack.

I decided to detour to The Savannah Distillery Ale House. Since I was alone, I sat at the bar. Heavy-hitting items filled the menu but, I wasn’t starving. I just needed a little something. The bartender was super helpful and friendly. I decided to go with the shrimp po’boy and fries. Oh my gosh, it was delicious. I can’t remember the name of my drink, but it was fruity and tasty.

I met a great couple during my lunch; They were tourists just arriving in Georgia, visiting Savannah with their daughter to celebrate her (their daughter’s) 60th birthday.

The couple reaffirmed everything that I have been working on over the last several years of my life/career. They told me to keep it up and that my work is needed.

I felt affirmed. There are no accidents in this life. I’m happy I met this family. I’m glad I stopped by The Distillery.

*Since this visit, The Distillery Restaurant in Savannah has closed its doors. I am not sure why. I certainly looked forward to a return visit.
